While she hasn’t had a lot of starring roles yet, she’s certainly working toward it.

Who Is Mark Knopfler?
Mark Knopfler is a British musician who fronted Dire Straits. He’s considered a guitar virtuoso and praised for knowing rock, blues, and folk styles.
In his teens, Knopfler received his first guitar. He loved the blues and studied the greats such as B.B. King, Elvis Presley, Django Reinhardt, and Chet Atkins. These musicians and their skills impressed and inspired Knopfler. He was in numerous bands during his teens and college years, though none released albums.
However, it wasn’t until after college that he began playing finger-picked guitar, one of his trademarks. He began finger-picking when he had an old guitar that could only be played that way.
Knopfler formed Dire Straits in 1977, and the other members changed during the years. When punk and disco were popular, Dire Straits broke through as a more folk-rock band. Knopfler wrote their songs, sang, and played lead guitar. Their hits included “Sultans of Swing,” “Money for Nothing,” and “Romeo and Juliet.”
Dire Straits became one of the best-selling bands of all time. In fact, Knopfler grew uncomfortable with their success. Soon after Knopfler’s daughter, Issy, was born, he broke up the band to be a solo act.
He’s released nine solo albums and done film scores, notably “The Princess Bride.”
Additionally, Knopfler produces music for other artists like Bob Dylan, Tina Turner, and Randy Newman.
He was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his contributions to music.
Who Is Issy Knopfler?
Isabella “Issy” Knopfler is Mark Knopfler’s daughter. Her mother is the actress-writer Kitty Aldridge. Aldridge has been in a handful of movies and tv shows. She was active from 1985-1998, and her last credit was 1998’s “Divorcing Jack.”
Issy is an actress in her 20’s, and critics have been positive towards her work.
She also works as a producer. So far, her only production credit is the short film Two. Issy’s breakout role was in the British show Before We Die. Her character was the Croatian-English Bianca.
Her longtime boyfriend is fellow actor Charlie Field. He’s most known for playing Prince Harry in the tv movie Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal.
Is Before We Die a Well Received TV Show?
There aren’t a lot of really positive reviews. Most comments are neutral or negative. Everyone seems to agree that the original Swedish show of the same name is much better.
Reviewers also frequently comment that the plot doesn’t deliver enough backstory and takes unnecessary twists and turns. Even so, Issy Knopfler seems to be a bright star in an otherwise mundane show.
The show’s central character is Detective Hannah Laing. She’s investigating her lover’s murder and uncovers a connection to drug mules. In the process, she learns that her son has been working as an informant related to the case.
Laing investigated the Croatian Mimica family. Bianca is their youngest daughter. She is the only one born in the UK, and she works as a waitress while working toward a law degree. She’s not involved in her family’s crimes, but her boyfriend spent time in jail with her brother, Christian.
There currently aren’t any announcements regarding a second season.
The original Swedish version received better reviews overall. It’s in the tradition of ‘Nordic Noir,” a slow, gritty genre of Scandinavian mysteries and has a different plot than the UK version. Both shows involve informants infiltrating Croatian organized crime. However, the Swedish series centers around a missing inspector, while the British show is about a murdered lover.
What Will Issy Be Starring in for 2022?
Issy Knopfler stars in the movie “And Anne,” which is due to release in 2022. Tim Kaza is the director. “And Anne” is the story of a young woman trying to avoid facing her past trauma. To cope, she invents an imaginary friend – the man in the moon.
Issy also appears in two episodes of Signora Volpe, a series debuting in 2022. Though, producers haven’t yet published her character. The series is about a British spy-turned-detective who moves to Italy but can’t escape her past.

When celebrities’ children get famous themselves, there’s bound to be curiosity. People wonder if the children are talented enough to stand on their own or coast by on their parents’ success.
In the case of Issy Knopfler, what’s cool is that her dad isn’t focused on fame at all. In fact, Knopfler was uncomfortable with his own level of fame. Instead of being flashy, Mark Knopfler is known for his talent, work ethic, and originality.
