The Isley Brothers, four brothers from Cleveland, Ohio, grew up singing in their church and began touring churches and singing gospel music. In 1957, they recorded their first hit, Shout, which reached number 47 on the Billboard Hot 100 list. Jimi Hendrix joined the group in 1964 and they hit their first big commercial success in 1969 with It's Your Thing.
The Isley Brothers have won numerous awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014 for their contributions to R&B music, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, and the Hollywood Rock Walk in 2022.
The Isley Brothers have been touring the U.S. since 1954 and have released three albums that have reached the top five on the Billboard 200. They are currently performing nationwide, including shows in North Carolina, Texas, and California.
The Isley Brothers have been instrumental in developing doo-wop, R&B, and rock and roll, winning Grammy Awards and being inducted into several halls of fame.
